What can cause pain in the head on the left side that moves from neck to temple and causes a black out?

My husband was in the shower and his neck was hurting. He said he could feel the pain move towards his temple on the left side. He woke on the bottom on the tub with a drooping eyelid on the left side and pain on the right. After lightheadedness the next night, he found three lumps on his scalp.
